Your yoga classes are the best money I've ever spent! I sleep well and feel so great for days after each class. Can't beat it! If I go to the doctor and complain about pain, all they do is prescribe pills, and I'm not into that. Medication rarely works for me.
I just thought I'd mention why I need to thank you. I have interstitial cystitis, which is associated with bladder and belly pain. During your yoga class, I notice my discomforts completely evaporate, especially during the meditation portion. I think it has to do with the controlled breathing and state of relaxation. This has been a godsend for me, as a way to get pain relief. I'm in absolute bliss by the time I walk out of your class! I plan to continue because the benefits are golden to me. Years of eating to fill emotional voids – in essence using food to celebrate the ups and downs of life led me to turning 33 and being the largest I’ve been in my life. Growing up in a family that did not place a value on eating balanced meals, fresh fruits and vegetables were limited, and processed foods were plenty. I needed a new outlook on nutrition and how to incorporate a new way of looking at food. I needed something I could blend in slowly. I knew a major, immediate change would be hard for me to maintain.
Jill allowed me to move forward at my own pace – while gently pushing me ahead. She appeared to instinctively know when to back off and let me realize things on my own, and when to call me out on excuses. I never felt like a failure, in fact, every small “win” was celebrated. This was a very positive approach. I am someone who thrives in positive situations. If I am feeling bad about myself – I give up. I never felt like Jill was judging me or making me feel guilty.
